The Rehabilitation Consultation:
- Starts with completing the Client Registration and Patient Questionnaire Form online. This allows us to obtain as much information as we can prior to your visit so that we can spend the majority of our time together examining your pet.
- The appointment visit is 1-hour in which Dr. Sullenberger will make a thorough assessment of your pet’s body condition, mobility, flexibility, body awareness, and take note of any pain or lameness. If warranted, this visit also includes the first Laser treatment and acclimation session in the underwater treadmill if time permits. Otherwise, the first Laser treatment and underwater treadmill session will be scheduled for another day.
- Next, Dr. Sullenberger will discuss her clinical examination findings and explain a list of potential causes.
Lastly, a treatment plan will be formulated and will include onsite treatments, and a home exercise program (HEP) that will be emailed to you at the conclusion of the appointment visit later that day.
Physical therapy can be extremely effective, but only if we work together to make a concerted effort to take the time to perform the recommended exercises at home, and keep the lines of communication open and amicable. We are here to help you along this journey and the hope is that we have a realistic understanding of the objective at hand: keeping your pet happy and healthy. And above all, “Keeping paws in balance and motion”.
